Bridging the gap between home & school
The Phonics Flip flash cards are multi-sensory and interactive. They do not rely exclusively on seeing, hearing and a photographic memory but promote learning through touch and movement. The learner is encouraged to colour in the pictures to personalise each of their cards and to trace the letters on the wipeable reverse with a finger and/or dry wipe pen (both over the template and freehand). This helps develop a ‘feel’ for the letters which builds a stronger connection and recall.
Phonics Flip has been developed by George and Pippa, two Mums who happen to be sisters. From our struggles with phonics and not knowing how to support our children’s learning we began a journey. Together we’ve developed this system to support that taught in the classroom at home.
We are passionate, we are committed and we are continuing this journey. One of us now is a qualified specialist dyslexia teacher and the other continues her adventures along the phonic path and supporting her dyslexic child.
